Starting her career in New York as a designer and stylist, Valerie Werner-Longo began collecting vintage and designer pieces from her work in the industry long before moving to the west coast to start a family. Living on the beaches of Southern California shifted priorities and perspectives, and after several years spent in visual merchandising for a global specialty retailer, she had seen enough mass production, fast-fashion and disposable clothing to reach a breaking point.
Drowning in a sea of redundancy and consumerism the drive to lessen the environmental impact became a necessity. With a discerning eye and strong point of view on fashion and style, her desire to build a modern collection by extending the relevancy and life of a garment came naturally. Discovering amazing survivors that were loved and lost from the closets of the world. She began to create a distinctive style, without adding to the world’s carbon footprint.
